New Years Weekend

December 30 – January 01, 2024

Great opportunity to celebrate the holiday with friends & family at Otsego resort! Short walk to lifts from Blue Spruce Lodge. Cross-country skiing, Snowshoeing and Snow tubing also available on-site . Or check out Tree Tops resort - just minutes away with Downhill, cross country, snowshoeing, tubing, dog sledding & sleigh rides.

Come and enjoy the Fireworks display at 10pm and music and dancing with DJ Jess Mench until 2am. Dinner is also offered at onsite restaurant - see Otsego flyer below (Dinner details to follow). 

This is a book your own lodging trip so to sign up for New Years weekend follow these steps:

1. Call Otsego resort at 989-732-5181 x450 & reserve a room with credit card. A one night deposit is required.  Rooms are $214+ tax and fees per night.  They are holding a block of rooms for the club till Dec 1, though there may be rooms still available after that.
2. Register on GGRSC Website.

Crooked River Weekend

January 5th through 7th

This a long-time favorite!  Friday and Saturday night lodging includes 2 breakfast buffets, Friday night welcome party and dinner.  

Ski Nubs Nub and après ski at Nubs Pub on Saturday. Lots of cross country and Snowshoe trails at Nubs Nob and Highlands.

Jan. 27 Sat. Hungerford Lake Recreation Area: Big Rapids Area — Meet at Post Rd Carpool Lot at 9:00 AM to carpool to recreation area. Arrival location at Hungerford will be the Mountain Bike Trailhead on Cherry Avenue. Arrive at location at 10:00. Bring your own snacks and water, but A French trail lunch will be provided on the trail at a bonfire. Dinner and drinks and heat afterwards will be at Big Rapids at Schuberg's .

Cross Country Day trips

February 2-4 Friday - Sunday Ludington State Park Weekend Annual Cross-Country Skiing, Hiking, Snowshoe, Weekend. Ski Ludington State Park, snowshoe, walk, swim, dine, bowl, and relax. Any other details may follow in our website if needed. www.wmskiclub.org

This can be a one day adventure on Saturday for those who prefer that. Possible extra XC skiing on Friday at : The Dunes” near by and on Sunday at “ Pentwater Pathways. These are places with groomed trails.

 Ludington Weekend: we have reserved a block of rooms again this year under WM Catholic Singles,  at the Comfort Inn 5323 US-10. Call 231-845-7004 to book your room with 24-hour cancellation .  Another fun weekend you won't want to miss.!

Join in the Friday night potluck and games at 6:30pm at the next-door Party Hall of Comfort Inn. 

Saturday: Hike/ XC Ski followed by afternoon bowling and evening dinner at Jamesport Brewing. 

Sunday: Hike the Hamlin Lakes trails, followed by a warm up at the Book Mark Coffee Shop in town.

Feb. 3 & 4 - Sat. -Sun. Corsair Trails/Cross Country Headquarters (Trail Passes Required) Do both days or join just for one. Meet at Lowell Park & Ride Lot (Lowell Exit off I-96) at 8:30 am Sat. to carpool or meet at Corsair Trails Trailhead at noon. Afterwards meet in Tawas City or Prudenville for dinner. Those staying overnight Sat. book on their own at American Inn & Suites Houghton Lake.

Meet at Cross Country Headquarters lodge on Sun. at 9:30 am. Have lunch at the lodge at 12:30 pm.

Apres drinks at the lodge (usually a single guitar player live) and return home.

This is a great chance to take a friend or family member(s) along to introduce them to the club.  All financials will be on your own vs. through the club.

Marquette Mid-Week Trip

February 26 - 29, 2024

Come ski the Upper Peninsula of Michigan! Marquette Mountain is a great downhill ski area. There is also cross-country and snowshoeing nearby at NTN trails.

Add on the Searchmont weekend (Feb 29 - March 3) and make it a week of skiing.
